Netflix’s new Agatha Christie series, The Seven Dials Mystery, has found its leading and supporting cast members. Multiple Agatha Christie novel-based titles have found success on the streaming service. Now, it plans to captivate its subscribers with another suspenseful thriller based on Christie’s 1929 novel, featuring a stellar cast.

Mia McKenna-Bruce, who recently won the BAFTA Rising Star after her breakout role in How to Have Sex, has been cast as the lead for Netflix’s upcoming detective-based series. Also known for her role in Persuasion, she’ll portray a unique sleuth named Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent in The Seven Dials Mystery.
Per Variety, she will be joined by Martin Freeman as Battle. Meanwhile, the supporting role of Lady Caterham will be played by Helena Bonham-Carter.
The events of the show take place in 1925 England. It is described as a “witty, epic and fast-paced drama,” featuring Bundle as a “fizzingly inquisitive” detective. In it, a practical joke goes extremely wrong at an extravagant country house party, leading to a murder. So, it’ll be upon Bundle to crack the case “that will change her life.”
Chris Sweeney will direct the series based on a script penned by Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall. The latter will also serve as an executive producer on the show through his production company, Imaginary Friends.
Alongside him, executive producer of The Crown Suzanne Mackie will also be an EP with Chris Sussman, Andy Stebbing, and James Prichard. Meanwhile, Joanna Crow will act as the producer of the show.
After the casting announcement, Mia McKenna-Bruce issued the following statement expressing her excitement to join the show:
“Chris Chibnall’s scripts are brilliant, and I am thrilled to be part of this new interpretation of the iconic Agatha Christie’s storytelling.”
With the series set to go under production in Summer 2024, more cast members are expected to be revealed soon. However, a release window has not been announced yet
