MBC recently confirmed to news outlets that popular South Korean actor and singer Seo Kang-Joon will be making his appearance in a new K-drama Undercover High School (Working Title). The series marks his first comeback project after his military discharge in May 2023. The drama is a comedy-action series airing every Friday and Saturday on MBC. As of now, there has been no official announcement on the release date, but it is expected to air in 2025.
Seo Kang-Joon plays the role of Jung Hae-Sung in MBC’s Undercover High School. His character is a secret National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent who goes undercover as a high school student to investigate a case. Director Im Young-Bin of Bad Prosecutor helms the series.
Seo Kang-Joon to lead new MBC drama alongside Jin Ki-Joo & Kim Min-Ju
Seo Kang-Joon will appear in the MBC K-drama Undercover High School alongside Jin Ki-Joo and Kim Min-Ju. Previously, news outlets reported that the two actresses were in talks to join the comedy-action series. The drama follows the journey of NIS agent Jung Hae-Sung, who investigates an unusual case. To uncover the truth, the character hides his identity as a NIS agent and transforms into a high-school student.
Hae-Sung takes on the case of Emperor Gojong’s gold bars and joins the high school as a student, which allegedly has close relations with the case. While hiding his identity as an NIS agent, he bonds with fellow classmates and has an eventful school life. Meanwhile, Jin Ki-Joo was offered the role of Oh Soo-Ah, Hae-Sung’s homeroom teacher. Lastly, Kim Min-Ju is in talks to play Lee Ye-Na, the high school chairman’s only daughter.
