The next episode of The Rookie, which will be a part of Season 7, will be coming out sometime in 2025, upon the release of the seventh season. There will not be any new episodes of The Rookie Season 6, which aired its last and tenth episode on May 21, 2024.
The Rookie Season 6’s 10-episode count makes it the police drama’s shortest season, only behind Season 3, which had 14 episodes.
As for when The Rookie Season 7 will come out, it is currently unknown as there is no confirmed release date. However, it appears that the release of the upcoming season is facing a slight delay. Speaking about the reason for the delay, Tim Bradford actor Eric Winter mentioned in a recent interview with Hello! that ABC wanted to protect the show from losing viewers from potential election-year distractions.
He said, “I know how much of a priority The Rookie is to ABC and with this being an election year and a lot of time being devoted to those sorts of things, they’re trying to protect the show.”
Winter then added that ABC wanted to put the show in a release line-up where they could give fans eight episodes in a row without any interruption and expressed his appreciation for the network’s decision.
