Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan is all set to captivate audiences with his upcoming release, Chandu Champion. As the release date approaches, the film’s makers and cast are actively engaged in promoting it. Amidst promotions, the lead actor Kartik recently expressed his admiration for the film’s story.
Kabir Khan directed the film, and Sajid Nadiadwala produced it under the joint banners of Grandson Entertainment, Kabir Khan Films, and Star Studios. Chandu Champion is all set to make its theatrical debut on June 14, 2024. Alongside Kartik, the cast includes Manoj Anand, Katrina Kaif, Shraddha Kapoor, Bhuvan Arora, Palak Lalwani, Adonis Kapsalis, David Chrisman, and Ritchi Edwards.
Reportedly, Chandu Champion is based on the life of India’s first Paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar. A former member of the Indian Army’s Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers (EME), Petkar served as a jawan with the craftsman rank. Additionally, he won the title of an individual gold medal in the 1972 Summer Paralympics in Heidelberg, Germany. Notably, Petkar also set a world record in the 50-meter freestyle swimming event, completing it in an astounding 37.33 seconds.

In Chandu Champion, Kartik Aaryan undertakes a remarkable transformation to portray the role of Murlikant Petkar. In a recent interview with Pinkvilla, the lead actor shared his admiration for Petkar’s real-life story. He said, “I felt like this journey could be a journey for anyone. A person who dreams of achieving his goals, and this is a very underdog story where you feel like. If I think of a dream like this and want to achieve it, then it’s a Chandu Champion story.”
Reflecting on his connection to the story, Aaryan added, “I was so amazed by the story when I first heard the script and while performing the film, I felt so many times that I could relate to this story. It’s like a small-town boy dreaming of becoming something in life.”
