Is Cody Rhodes’ WWE Title Reign Missing a Manager?

WWE’s undisputed champion, Cody Rhodes, is currently at the top of his game in the industry. However, many are wondering if Rhodes is considering a manager for his career. Rhodes recently finished his story by defeating Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40.

Cody Rhodes has successfully defended his title twice since winning at WrestleMania 40. He delivered classic matches against AJ Styles at Backlash and Logan Paul at King and Queen of the Ring. The match with Styles even earned him a prestigious five-star rating from wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer. While Rhodes reigns supreme, recent news adds another layer to his story. His former manager from AEW, Arn Anderson, recently left the promotion. This has sparked speculation about a potential WWE return for Anderson and a possible reunion with Rhodes.

However, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has thrown a wrench into those plans. Ray recently stated on Busted Open Radio that he believes Cody Rhodes doesn’t need a manager in his career. He stated, “I do not believe that Cody Rhodes needs anybody as his manager. If Cody was to take on a manager, a la an Arn Anderson, I would really need to know why. The one name that popped into my head that Arn Anderson reminded me of, would remind me of, if he were to manage Cody. Who would Arn remind you of, if he were to manage Cody? Arnold Skaaland.”

He continued, “I’m an Arn fan, I understand what he was able to accomplish, you know, in AEW with Cody. I get their relationship there. I think that was more about nostalgia than anything else. I don’t think Cody needs anybody.”

How many managers did WWE champion Cody Rhodes have in his career?

Throughout his career, Cody Rhodes hasn’t relied heavily on managers. While he’s certainly collaborated with some big names like Randy Orton and Ted DiBiase Jr. in “The Legacy” during his early WWE days, Rhodes has spent a good portion of his career wrestling solo. This includes both his singles runs and tag team endeavors.

Following his departure from WWE, Cody Rhodes finally had a manager during his tenure at AEW. He was managed by Arn Anderson, known as “The Enforcer,” throughout his time there. However, upon his return to WWE in 2022, Rhodes has opted to go without a manager once again.
