The film premiered in the US theaters in 2007 and was massively successful. This led to the development of the sequel 300: Rise of an Empire, which came out in 2014. Now, there is a 300 Prequel Series in the works.

In late 2024, various outlets reported that Warner Bros. Television was making a 300 TV series. Although the script is still being developed, Variety reported that their sources had informed them that the series would serve as a prequel to Zack Snyder’s film. The entertainment outlet further reported that Snyder was in negotiations to board the project as director and executive producer. Other producers involved in making the first film, including Deborah Snyder, might also return to the 300 universe with this project.
