Why did Frank Fritz leave American Pickers?
Frank Fritz did not leave the show but took a break from American Pickers in March 2020 to undergo a back surgery, after which the showrunners did not bring him back.
Speaking with The Sun, Frank Fritz said “I didn’t leave the show, I finished shooting and then I had a little back surgery and the pandemic came.” Here he also addressed how years and months of heavy lifting took its toll and caused back issues but that with surgery his health had improved, saying he “had a couple of rods put in there.”
Will Frank Fritz return in American Pickers?
Frank Fritz will reportedly not return in American Pickers for the foreseeable future as the show reportedly has no plans to bring him back.
In July 2021, TMZ‘s sources close to American Pickers’ production mentioned that the showrunners had no plans to bring back Frank Fritz anytime soon and that the show had to go on following his exit. The sources further claimed that the producers felt the show was doing well with just Mike at the helm.
TMZ’s report echoes what Frank Fritz mentioned to The Sun that same month when he said that he would love to return but that it all depended on the network.
