The Fall Guy: Extended Cut: How to Watch Online & All New Scenes Explained

An extended cut version of The Fall Guy came out digitally on May 21, 2024, and the viewers want to know where they can watch it online and how many new scenes it has. Directed by David Leitch from a script by Drew Pearce, the film is a loose adaptation of the namesake ABC TV series from the ‘80s. The plot revolves around stunt performer Colt Seavers (Ryan Gosling). 18 months after he quits Hollywood, Colt returns to his old job to help his former girlfriend, first-time film director Jody Moreno (Emily Blunt), find her absconding male lead.

Here’s all you need to know about The Fall Guy: Extended Cut, how to watch it online and all new scenes.

How to Watch The Fall Guy’s extended cut online?

According to Comic Book, viewers can rent the theatrical and extended cut versions of The Fall Guy on Fandango at Home (formerly known as Vudu), the Microsoft Store, Xfinity, and Apple TV Plus. Renting the film on these platforms costs $19.99. The cost is $24.99 if you are opting to purchase.

Additionally, viewers can rent or buy the theatrical version on Spectrum, Amazon Prime Video, Verizon TV, and YouTube.

What are the differences and new scenes added in The Fall Guy: Extended Cut?

The runtime of the extended cut is 20 minutes longer than the theatrical version. So, there is not enough scope for the two iterations to differ significantly. However, some of the scenes in the extended cut have been stretched out with additional ad-libs and dialogues.

  • For instance, additional footage depicts Colt envisioning a crash just before he performs the car roll stunt. His conversion with Gail Meyer (Hannah Waddingham) early in the film spans longer in the extended cut.
  • The scene involving Colt and Tom Ryder’s (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) girlfriend Iggy (Teresa Palmer) is longer as well.
  • Arguably the most important difference between the two versions is that the extended cut has a chase scene involving Colt and a drug dealer. While seeing unicorns under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs, Colt follows the drug dealer across a train and a warehouse. A fun sequence bound to keep the viewers hooked, its absence doesn’t necessarily impact the theatrical version.
  • While he is still under the influence of the drugs, Colt speaks to Jody in the lobby until Gail intervenes.
  • After Colt discovers a body covered in ice in Tom’s hotel room, he calls Gail. This interaction is longer in the extended version, as is the exchange between Colt and Alma (Stephanie Hsu) after he grabs the dog.
  • There is also additional footage of Tom and Jody on the set of Metalstorm, with the former botching a monologue.
  • The scene in which Colt learns the truth from Tom has also been extended. In addition, the extended cut spends more time setting up the climax. The final stunt is also longer and more elaborate. It also features more dialogue between Tom and Colt.

While one can understand why all these clips were left behind on the cutting room floor, they do add an extra layer of humor and entertainment to the scenes in question.
