With the tickets for Deadpool & Wolverine going on sale, Marvel has finally released the plot synopsis for its new R-rated outing. But, with Disney and Marvel venturing into a new adult-oriented territory, two different versions of the film’s synopsis are now available.
Marvel reveals Deadpool & Wolverine’s movie synopsis
Deadpool & Wolverine’s advanced ticket sales began on Monday, May 20, and Marvel released a couple of synopses to tease its plot. One official family-friendly Deadpool & Wolverine synopsis provided to ticket retailers reads:
“Wolverine is recovering from his injuries when he crosses paths with the loudmouth, Deadpool. They team up to defeat a common enemy.”
But the second, more elaborate and uncensored, yet incomplete synopsis of the film reads:
“Marvel Studios presents their most significant mistake to date – Deadpool & Wolverine. A listless Wade Wilson toils away in civilian life. His days as the morally flexible mercenary, Deadpool, behind him.”
It continues:
“When his homeworld faces an existential threat, Wade must reluctantly suit-up again with an even more reluctantlier… reluctanter? Reluctantest? He must convince a reluctant Wolverine to – F–k. Synopses are so f–king stupid.”
Both versions of the synopses remain vague about Deadpool & Wolverine’s overall plot, only teasing a team-up between the leads to save the multiverse.
However, the trailers of the film showcase the two taking on the evil twin of Professor X, Cassandra Nova. Played by Emma Corrin, Nova appears within the Void at the end of the time. But, the kind of threat she poses to the multiverse and her motivations are yet to be revealed.
Deadpool & Wolverine sees the return of Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman as the titular characters respectively, alongside Matthew Macfadyen’s TVA Agent, Paradox. Further, Morena Baccarin, Stefan Kapicic, Leslie Uggams, Rob Delaney, Karan Soni, Lewis Tan, Brianna Hildebrand, and Shioli Kutsuna are returning from Deadpool 2.
