Connection K-Drama Trailer Teases Ji-Sung’s Addiction Struggles on CCTV Camera

SBS released a brand-new trailer for its upcoming K-drama Connection, teasing an interesting premise for viewers to tune in to. The series premieres on Friday, May 24, 2024, at 10 p.m. KST on SBS. It follows the story of ace narcotics detective Jang Jae-Kyung (Ji-Sung), who is forced into drug addiction. After the mysterious death of his friend, Jae-Kyung uncovers the story behind their connection, leading to buried secrets and dark truths. 

The newly released trailer for Connection documents well-respected detective Jang Jae-Kyung’s struggles with drug addiction. The CCTV cameras capture his unusual behavior in the police station as well as in the hospital. While he proves himself to be an ace detective while solving cases and catching culprits, his drug addiction struggles cause problems in his life. Viewers will have to wait and find out if he’s able to solve his misery.

The trailer for the upcoming SBS K-drama Connection begins with Jang Jae-Kyung proving his skills as a detective at the Anhyeon Police Station. He catches a culprit using a smart technique during their confrontation and arrests the man. However, back at the police station, Jae-Kyung collapses due to his struggles with drug addiction. The trailer uses a CCTV camera format to document the detective’s journey.

Throughout his career, Jae-Kyung earned the respect of both his junior and senior colleagues, but his world started crumbling down due to his drug addiction struggles. The trailer further proceeds to show Jae-Kyung at the hospital, displaying unusual behavior as he starts looking for drugs or medications. As people in the hospital try to catch him, he pushes them to escape. The CCTV cameras in the trailer indicate that someone is watching the detective closely. 

The trailer then showcases the rest of the cast members, including his high school friend and social affairs reporter, Oh Yoon-Jin (Jeon Mi-Do). An outspoken and passionate reporter, Yoon-Jin collaborates with Jae-Kyung to find the missing pieces of the puzzle that drove the latter into addiction. Meanwhile, the trailer ends by showing the rest of the characters in a suspicious atmosphere, including Park Tae-jin (Kwon Yul), Won Jong-Su (Kim Kyung-Nam), and others.
