The ADOR versus HYBE conflict took a new turn when the parents of NewJeans members came forward to comment on the issue. Later, HYBE issued another statement about some of the claims made in the NewJeans’ parents’ email.
For the unversed, the HYBE vs. Min Hee Jin’s ADOR issue stems from HYBE starting an audit to investigate the CEO’s current management. HYBE further alleged that Min Hee Jin planned to take over ADOR with various schemes. So far, ADOR’s head has refuted the claims. They released multiple statements accusing HYBE of being unable to manage numerous sub-labels and stealing some original ideas of NewJeans.
HYBE vs. ADOR controversy: NewJeans’ parents on Bang Si-Hyuk’s actions
The latest statement of NewJeans’ parents on HYBE and chairman Bang Si Hyuk is causing a stir on the Internet. As per reports, HYBE received the original email on April 3 after Min Hee Jin acquired it on March 31.
The email points out how ADOR’s NewJeans received different treatment than other HYBE groups. In the email, the parents claimed: “We wonder why HYBE’s chairman, Bang Si Hyuk, ignored the NewJeans members and their greetings whenever he ran into them at the company.”
The statement added: “First, we had doubts when we heard from the children, “He must not have recognized us,” and asked them again several times. However, this happened on several occasions, and as there were times when they ran into him alone on different dates and different locations, he must have recognized the members to be NewJeans.”
The parents of NewJeans emphasized that Chairman Bang si Hyuk has ignored the group’s greetings on multiple occasions. They revealed: “After hearing more than one or two instances of standing blankly in the elevator because it was embarrassing to be ignored.” The statement added that [Bang Si Hyuk] was ‘pretending’ not to see them and ‘intentionally’ avoiding them. The letter explained the parents’ mixed emotions at this “childish and unbelievable situation.” They added, “We were at a loss as nothing we could say to our children. These members are just of middle school and high school age.”
In addition to Bang Si Hyuk’s treatments, they highlighted the similarities between Belift’s new group and NewJeans. The statement pointed out the similarities between NewJeans’s content and that of other groups, which had already been ‘mass-produced.’ Surprisingly, ‘the other group’ that seemingly took NewJeans’ style of content came from the same parent company.
HYBE vs. ADOR controversy: HYBE Responds to NewJeans’ Claims
In response to NewJeans’ latest statement, HYBE issued a quick response refuting some of the allegations. The home company of BTS said: “We received the mentioned email on April 3, and we already replied on April 16 with content including that it is not plagiarism. We also want to state that the claim that the start of the ADOR incident was due to “neglect such as not responding to greetings” is a one-sided argument and not true. We find it very unfortunate that Min Hee Jin uses an old-fashioned practice as she drags in artists and their families in her battles for her personal greed.”
HYBE further accused Min Hee Jin of using email as one of the techniques to attack HYBE, a part of her ‘management takeover’ plan. The music conglomerate expressed ‘dismay’ at Min Hee Jin’s behavior, using artists as shields for her gain and even putting their parents at the forefront.
