Mohanlal’s Barroz Release Date Revealed

Malayalam star Mohanlal is all set to play a different role in his upcoming movie Barroz. Touted to be a fantasy film, it is based on the novel Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure by Jijo Punnoose. The movie marks Mohanlal’s directorial debut. The actor has also contributed to the writing process of the movie, while Aashirvad Cinemas has bankrolled it. Amid the buzz around the film, its makers have finally announced its official release date.

Barroz’s cast also includes Maya, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Cesar Lorente Raton, Guru Somasundaram, Tuhin Menon, and more. For the unversed, the movie’s plot allegedly revolves around Barroz, the guardian who protects the hidden treasure of Vasco da Gama. While he has been doing his job for 400 years, he has to give the treasure to a true descendant of Gama. What happens next shapes the plot of the movie.

Mohanlal’s Barroz to release on September 12?

Taking to his social media handles, Mohanlal recently dropped a brand new poster for Barroz. In the poster, he can be seen interacting with a little girl while dressed in vintage-style clothes. The poster hinted at the fantasy theme of the movie with a pleasant backdrop. Along with the new look, the actor also unveiled the release date of Barroz. The movie will arrive in the theaters on the occasion of Onam 2024, i.e. September 12, 2024.

Mohanlal’s fans are elated with the release date announcement of Barroz. While one Instagram user wrote, “It will be such a good movie,” another penned, “Looks awesome sir eagerly waiting.” “Surprise update..!! But waiting for this one badly,” wrote a third one.

On the work front, Mohanlal, one of the busiest actors, has several upcoming movies. He will soon be seen reprising his role as Stephen in Lucifer’s sequel, L2: Empuraan. Besides Prithviraj Sukumaran’s directorial, he also has L360 in the pipeline. He is also set to play a crucial role in the upcoming mythological film Kannappa.
