Hugh Jackman & Jodie Comer to Headline The Death of Robin Hood Movie

Ahead of A Quiet Place: Day One’s theatrical debut this June, director Michael Sarnoski has officially found his next high-profile movie in The Death of Robin Hood.

Deadline brings word that Oscar nominee Hugh Jackman (Deadpool and Wolverine) and Emmy winner Jodie Comer (The Bikeriders) have joined the cast of the upcoming dark reimagining of the classic English folklore about the legendary outlaw who steals from the rich to give to the poor. Production on The Death of Robin Hood is currently scheduled to start in February 2025.

“It has been an incredible opportunity to reinvent and freshly innovate the story we all know of Robin Hood,” Sarnoski said in a statement. “Securing the perfect cast to transform the script to screen was essential. I could not be more thrilled and trusting in Hugh and Jodie to bring this story to life in a powerful and meaningful way.”

What to expect from The Death of Robin Hood?

The Death of Robin Hood will be written and directed by Sarnoski, who first gained recognition for his feature-length directorial movie Pig which starred Nicolas Cage as a truffle hunter. In addition to starring, Jackman has also signed on to become an executive producer alongside Sarnoski, Rama Gottumukkala, Jon Rosenberg, and Natalie Sellers. It is produced by Aaron Ryder, Andrew Swett, and Alexander Black.

“Set of its time, the film will see the title character grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder, a battleworn loner who finds himself gravely injured and in the hands of a mysterious woman, who offers him a chance at salvation,” reads the initial synopsis.
