Nivin Pauly has returned to the big screen with his latest film, Malayalee From India. It premiered in theatres on May 1, 2024. As the audience enjoys the movie, fans eagerly await its opening-day box office collection. Recent reports confirm that the film minted a significant amount on its debut.
The film, directed by Dijo Jose Antony, features Nivin Pauly, Dhyan Sreenivasan, and Anaswara Rajan in leading roles. Malayalee From India box office collection day 1 explored
According to reports from the industry tracker Sacnilk, Malayalee From India earned $347,933 in net collection on its opening day in India. This brings its overall first-day worldwide collection to $401,915. Additionally, the film achieved an overall occupancy rate of 64.39% on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Interestingly, the Alappuzha region boasted the highest occupancy at 94%, while the National Capital Region (NCR) saw the lowest at 16.33%. However, it is essential to note that these figures may differ from producer figures.
According to Onmanorama, director Dijo confirmed that the film will be exclusively released in Malayalam without dubbed versions. Explaining this decision he said, “Our previous films, including ‘Jana Gana Mana’ were trending on Netflix when we released the movie in various languages. However, with ‘Malayalee from India,’ we decided not to release any dubbed versions.”
Additionally, the director stated that the story resonates best with audiences when heard and understood in Malayalam. As the movie continues to captivate audiences, it will be interesting to see how its earnings fare in the coming days.
