Vinegar Syndrome is releasing Ted Geoghegan’s supernatural post-war chiller Brooklyn 45 on Blu-ray.

This special limited edition slipcover (designed by Chris Barnes) is limited to 1,000 units and is only available on Vinegar Syndrome’s website and at select indie retailers. Absolutely no major retailers will be stocking them.
Directed by Ted Geoghegan, Brooklyn 45 sees five military veterans, best friends since childhood, gather together in a Brooklyn brownstone several months after the end of World War II, and the metaphoric ghosts of their past become all-too-literal.
I picked Brookyln 45 as one of my favorite horror movies of 2023, as I was a fan of its chamber piece chills. In a feature on ComingSoon, I wrote ”By the time we leave that brownstone with the group, a lot has changed, and the existence of the supernatural is not the biggest. The haunting truth that the dynamic of their friendship was significantly altered by the war and the only way to continue that relationship is to adjust to the fact they all did horrific things in the name of freedom and none of them will ever be truly okay with that.”
