Apple TV+ has released the Presumed Innocent teaser trailer for its upcoming courtroom thriller starring Oscar nominee Jake Gyllenhaal. It’s his first lead role in a major scripted series three decades after his television debut in a 1994 episode of Homicide: Life on the Street.
The video features Gyllenhaal as Chief Deputy Prosecutor Rusty Sabich, who gets accused of killing his close colleague after evidence begins to point in his direction. The miniseries will start streaming on June 12 with the first two episodes.

What to expect from Presumed Innocent?
“The series takes viewers on a gripping journey through the horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorney’s office when one of its own is suspected of the crime. The series explores obsession, sex, politics, and the power and limits of love, as the accused fights to hold his family and marriage together,” reads the synopsis.
Based on Scott Turow’s 1987 novel, Presumed Innocent is written and executive produced by showrunner David E. Kelley. The limited drama will also star Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, Elizabeth Marvel, Renate Reinsve, Peter Sarsgaard, O-T Fagbenle, Chase Infiniti, Nana Mensah, Kingston Rumi Southwick, Matthew Alan, and Lily Rabe. In addition to leading the cast, Gyllenhaal is also executive producing alongside Turow, J.J. Abrams, Matthew Tinker, Rachel Rusch Rich, Dustin Thomason, Sharr White, and Miki Johnson. Before the Apple TV+ adaptation, the novel was first adapted into a film in 1990, which starred Harrison Ford as Rusty Sabich.
