tvN’s upcoming K-drama The Midnight Romance in Hagwon released brand-new photos, teasing a glimpse of all Daechi-Dong instructors. The series is all set to release on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 9:20 p.m. KST on tvN. Viewers can also stream it on Viki and TVING. The drama follows the story of popular instructor Seo Hye-Jin (Jung Ryeo-Won), who reunites with her former student-turned-instructor, Lee Joon-Ho (Wi Ha-Joon).
The newly released pictures reveal the academic environment in Daechi-Dong, a neighborhood popular for private education centers in Korea. Lee Joon-Ho, who leaves his job to become an instructor, auditions in front of his former teacher, Seo Hye-Jin, who is also his first love. The photos also reveal more academy instructors and potential recruits’ audition scenes. Viewers eagerly await the release of this drama, which replaces the recently concluded and highly popular series Queen of Tears.

The Midnight Romance in Hagwon is a highly anticipated K-drama that documents the love story of two individuals – Lee Joon-Ho and his former teacher and first love, Seo Hye-Jin. After leaving a high-paying job, Joon-Ho returns to Hye-Jin’s academy as an instructor to potentially pursue her. Initially, Hye-Jin struggles with her growing feelings towards Joon-Ho. However, with time, she finds herself attracted to and in love with Joon-Ho.
The photos showcase Joon-Ho’s return to Hye-Jin’s life as he auditions to become an instructor in her academy. The need for instructors and teachers in Daechi-Dong increases, so the existing professors hold an audition to find the next batch of potential instructors. However, Hye-Jin finds a familiar face among the prospective employees. She discovers her former student, Joon-Ho, who is one of her success stories. Because of her, Joon-Ho was able to enter a prestigious university. Meanwhile, Joon-Ho confidently gives his audition lecture before Hye-Jin and the other instructors, while she looks at him confused.
Additionally, So Joo-Yeon plays Nam Cheong-Mi, who also auditions to become an instructor. She wears a school uniform and a bright smile, determined to get the instructor position within the academy. Kim Jong-Tae plays academy director Kim Hyun-Tak, who personally handpicked Hye-Jin, the “star instructor.” He looks for more instructors like her. Kim Jeong-Young plays deputy director Yoon Ji-Seok, who also watches the audition. Jang In-Sub essays the role of the head of the English department, Yoon Ji-Seok, who looks satisfied with the batch of applicants.
Furthermore, Jang So-Yeon plays the administrative office head, Cho Ji-Eun, and Kil Hae-Yeon essays the role of the counseling department head, Kim Hyo-Im. The latter also considers herself a “self-proclaimed college exam expert.” Seo Jung-Yeon plays the academy’s rival, Choi Hyung-Sun, the director of a Korean language institute, who has been an active instructor for 20 years. Her portrayal in the photos raises more anticipation about her character in the storyline.
