New WWE Matches This Week (April 29- May 3, 2024)

The WWE landscape is buzzing with anticipation as the 2024 WWE Draft continues its momentum. After a great first night on SmackDown, RAW takes center stage for night two of the draft, promising more surprises and roster shake-ups. Meanwhile, SmackDown gears up for its go-home show before Backlash France, with thrilling matches and segments in store.

WWE RAW showdown: The Judgment Day in action, Logan Paul & CM Punk returns

This week, WWE RAW is set to take place at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, as night two of the 2024 WWE Draft unfolds. With four draft picks per round, the red brand is eager to get its talents on its roster after securing talents like Bron Breakker and Kiana James and retaining their top stars on night one. Fans are on the edge of their seats to see which superstars will make the jump to RAW this week.

Furthermore, Jey Uso, Ricochet, and Andrade will face Damian Priest, Finn Balor, and JD McDonagh in a six-man tag team match. The tensions within The Judgment Day are palpable as Priest prepares to defend his world title against Jey Uso this weekend at Backlash.

Logan Paul makes his highly anticipated return to WWE RAW, marking his first appearance since WrestleMania 40. At WrestleMania 40, Paul defeated Randy Orton and Kevin Owens to retain his US title. The WWE universe is curious about the role he’ll play and what surprises WWE has in store for him.

CM Punk is also set to make his return this Monday. While initially scheduled for both nights of the Draft, Punk’s SmackDown appearance has been postponed. Will McIntyre confront him, or will Punk make another post-show appearance on RAW?

Last week, Becky Lynch was crowned the new champion after she claimed the Women’s World Championship in a battle royal. As Backlash approaches this weekend, anticipation builds around who will step up as Lynch’s challenger for the show. Liv Morgan could emerge as a potential contender for the title.

WWE SmackDown showdown: Tag team championship clash, Cody Rhodes & AJ Styles confrontation, RKO show

Excitement mounts as WWE SmackDown gears up for Backlash. It is set to take place at the LDLC Arena in Décines-Charpieu, France, this week. The focus is on the Tag Team Championship clash between A-Town Down Under and The Street Profits. A-Town Down Under, who secured the tag team title at WrestleMania, prepares to defend it for the first time. Meanwhile, The Street Profits earned their title shot by winning the four-way match on the April 19 edition of SmackDown.

Additionally, Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles will face off following their confrontational contract signing, which took place last week on the blue brand. Both stars will come face-to-face ahead of their clash at Backlash.

Randy Orton and Kevin Owens will host the RKO Show, intensifying the already high tensions. The stakes couldn’t be higher as Orton and Owens prepare to face The Bloodline’s Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga at Backlash in a tag team match. Last week at SmackDown, both Orton and Owens confronted Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga from The Bloodline, setting the stage for an explosive showdown.

Lastly, the Authors of Pain will face New Catch Republic’s Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne in a heated matchup. This confrontation stems from the Authors of Pain’s attack on them backstage last Friday on SmackDown.

Last week, it was confirmed that Bayley would defend her WWE Women’s Championship in a triple-threat match. This was following Stratton’s interruption during Bayley and Naomi’s title match a few weeks ago. Thus, Bayley will defend her title against Tiffany Stratton and Naomi at Backlash.

With the WWE Draft in full swing and Backlash on the horizon, RAW and SmackDown are on the edge of a new era, promising fans a week filled with drama and action.
