The plot thickens when the don gets killed, and a police officer recruits a look-alike to unearth secrets about their gang.
With a successful run of 175 days, Billa was declared a box office hit and was also selected for screening at the 61st Cannes Film Festival. Funded with a budget of $1.7 million, the makers released it at over 200 screens in Tamil Nadu and 50 screens overseas. According to IMDb, Billa has grossed around $964,432 worldwide.
