The Rock made his grand return to WWE earlier this year in January on the WWE RAW Day 1 edition. Following his return, The Rock got involved in a huge storyline with The Bloodline, Cody Rhodes, and Seth Rollins. This ultimately led to his return to in-ring action after a decade at WWE WrestleMania 40.
At WWE RAW after WrestleMania 40, The Rock confronted the new Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. He stated that he would be taking some time away from WWE. In a recent interview with Sports Business Journal, Triple H teased The Rock’s WWE next appearances.
He stated, “I can only imagine what’s next for The Rock, he’s got his hands in just about everything. We were thrilled to have Rock be involved, when you can have the biggest star on the globe arguably want to be a part of what we do and in a meaningful way. And want to do it in a way that he’s not like ‘hey yeah I’ll come in, tell me what to do, I’ll go do this’ but all of his resources, all of his brain power, all of his creative, all of those things, his branding, ‘I want to invest in this, I want to make it an amazing ride for our fans’ – it doesn’t get any better than that.”
He continued, “So his coming in, just across the board, if you had told me in the beginning of the conversation that we we’re going to get the ‘Final Boss’ heel version of The Rock, I would have said ‘you’re crazy,’ but that’s his level of commitment. He goes off, he makes a few movies now and as he said a week ago, he’ll be back and it’ll be a hell of a ride when he comes back.”
The Rock warns WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker
The WWE Universe witnessed one of the best WrestleMania main events during the match between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. The match involved The Usos brothers, Solo Sikoa, Seth Rollins, John Cena, The Rock, and The Undertaker.
The Rock, who came face-to-face with The Undertaker, received a chokeslam from the Deadman. While The Undertaker may have had the upper hand on The Rock, recently, on his social media, The Rock sent out a warning to The Undertaker following their WrestleMania 40 confrontation.
For the first time in a decade, the WWE Universe saw The Rock and The Undertaker in the same ring. It will be interesting to see if these two stars come face-to-face again in the future, especially since Triple H has teased the return of the final boss to WWE.
