The upcoming historical C-drama Beyond the Clouds has begun filming and will meet viewers soon. The drama team held a booting ceremony on April 8, 2024 to mark the beginning of filming of the anticipated drama. A booting ceremony or a prayer ceremony in the C-drama world is an important event. It takes place before the filming of an upcoming drama. The ceremony usually takes place according to Buddhist beliefs and rituals.
The drama features Zhang Yishan as the leading actor. The English title of the drama Beyond the Clouds was previously known as Legend of the Divine Sparrow but was changed at the last moment.

Although the drama team has yet to release an official synopsis, it has been revealed that the drama will be a period drama that will tell the story of the Peking opera of Beijing. It is a bibliography of the famous actor Jing Jiu.

Other than Zhang Yishan as the lead actor, the drama also features Tan Zhuo, Cao Lei, Yang Lixin, Xing Minshan, Zhou Jiuliang, Zhang Weixun, Zhang Shuchen, Yang Ming, Du Yiheng, Gao Yang, Wei Binghua, Gang Yi, Liu Liwei, Zhang Xiqian, Du Yuming in pivotal roles. Liu Wei, Yu Hui, Zhao Liang, Liu Xiao Ling Tong, Yang Xinming, and He Zhonghua will make special appearances in the drama.
Zhang Dasheng is the director of the drama, while Wang Yao has helmed it. Wan Mei Ji Mu is the producer of the drama.
Perfect World Pictures holds the distribution rights for Beyond the Clouds. It will reportedly release a total of 40 episodes.
