Jennifer Dulos’ murder case: What was Michelle Troconis accused of?

CBS News reported that Jennifer Dulos, a Connecticut mother-of-five, went missing from her home on May 24, 2019. At the time, she was in the midst of a bitter divorce and custody battle with her husband, Fotis Dulos. Authorities considered Fotis a primary suspect in Jennifer’s disappearance.

While authorities never found Jennifer’s body, they alleged that Fotis attacked and murdered her in the garage. They accused his then-girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, of helping him plot Jennifer’s murder and later to cover up the crime.

NBC Connecticut stated that evidence against Troconis and Fotis Dulos included incriminating surveillance footage. The video evidence showed the couple was disposing of garbage bags in garbage bins in Hartford bags at several locations.

A subsequent search revealed that the garbage bags comprised clothing, bra, and zip ties. They also found blood stains on the said bags. Tests confirmed that the blood belonged to Jennifer. The bags also contained Fotis and Troconis’ DNA, reported CBS News.

The outlet stated that Fotis Dulos, after authorities arrested him for Jennifer Dulos’ murder, died by suicide in January 2020, per ABC. Fotis never faced trial. Meanwhile, Michelle Troconis’ trial for conspiring to kill Jennifer began in January 2024, resulting in a conviction.
