JYP Entertainment revealed TWICE’s Chaeyoung‘s new boyfriend is Zion.T. The K-pop superstar has reportedly been close with the rapper for a few months.
While K-pop idol dating was considered taboo for decades, 2024 has shown that the times are changing. From Aespa’s Karina to K-drama star Han So Hee, Korean artists have addressed the fans directly and have opened up about the sensitive topic.
Fans welcome the Korean entertainment industry change, where artists can directly address fans and talk about their happy feelings or heartbreaks. In many specific cases, stringent rules of entertainment labels prevented artists from showing a glimpse of their personal lives earlier. But the new generation of K-pop idols and K-drama stars are taking necessary measures to normalize having a thriving private life.
TWICE Chaeyoung and Zion.T dating for six months
As per JYP Entertainment’s official statement, Chaeyoung, and Zion.T are “currently dating with positive feelings for one another. They are supporting each other.” Previously, a report suggested that the 24-year-old TWICE star started going out with Zion.T for six months now. The report also hinted that Chaeyoung met the 34-year-old rapper through a mutual friend.
Zion.T, aka Kim Hae-sol, debuted in Korean music in 2011. The rapper took the stage name Zion.T to pay tribute to his religion. Since his debut, the hip-hop maestro has released over three extended plays, two studio albums, and several hit singles. He also gained significant recognition after winning the R&B Discovery of the Year Award at the 2016 Gaon Chart Music Awards. He also bagged the Best Vocal Performance – Male Award at the 2015 Mnet Asia Music Awards.
Chaeyoung, on the other hand, debuted in 2015 with the girl group TWICE. Since their debut, Chaeyoung became increasingly popular, showing off her fiery rapping skills. Apart from acing the group concept, the K-pop icon collaborated with American pop duo Coco & Clair for the single “Pop Star” in 2023.
