Sonic the Hedgehog 3 has wrapped filming.
On X, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 director Jeff Fowler shared a photo announcing that production has officially wrapped on the forthcoming sequel.

What do we know about Sonic the Hedgehog 3?
Ben Schwartz is reprising his role as the titular character in Sonic the Hedgehog 3, while Colleen O’Shaughnessey and Idris Elba will once again voice Tails and Knuckles. It has also been announced that Shadow the Hedgehog will appear in the film.
The cast for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 additionally includes James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik, Lee Majdoub as Agent Stone, Tom Butler as Commander Walters, and Alyla Browne as Maria.
Krysten Ritter, James Wolk, Sofia Pernas, Cristo Fernández, and Jorma Taccone have also been cast in undisclosed roles.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is written by Pat Casey, Josh Miller, and John Whittington. Plot details remain under wraps at this time, though the movie is reportedly inspired by 2001’s Sonic Adventure 2 (which is where Shadow made his official debut) and 2005’s Shadow the Hedgehog
Fowler also directed the first two movies in the Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise. The first Sonic the Hedgehog hit United States theaters in February 2020 and made approximately $319.7 million at the global box office off an estimated budget of $85-90 million.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 followed in April 2022 and made even more money, approximately $405.4 million at the global box office off an estimated $90-110 million.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 releases in United States theaters on December 20, 2024, from Paramount Pictures. Both Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 are currently streaming on Paramount+, while the first movie is also available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
