Dhanush’s most ambitious project, Ilaiyaraaja’s biopic, was officially announced on March 20 at a star-studded event. Tamil superstar Kamal Haasan made his appearance at this event. The actor has worked with the legendary music maestro in several movies and even sung for him. During the event, Haasan had special advice for the movie’s director. He mentioned how the film has a special place in his heart, and he wants it to be perfect.
Arun Matheswaran, whose last outing was Captain Miller with Dhanush, has been roped in as the director of the Ilaiyaraaja’s biopic. He was also present at the announcement event and received some words of wisdom from Kamal Haasan.
Kamal Haasan ask Ilaiyaraaja director to work according to his research
According to Times Of India, Kamal Haasan addressed the audience and talked about the movie. During his address, he asked Arun Matheswaran to stick to his research and make the film. He said, “Once again to the director, do this film with what feels true to you according to your research and vision. Don’t succumb to any kind of pressure. Because this is not only a film about the ‘Isai Gnyani’ Ilaiyaraaja but also about the Bharatratna Ilaiyaraaja. This is a demand from all of us.”
As per India Today, Kamal Haasan also threw light on his bond with Ilaiyaraaja. He said, “I don’t know where to begin about Ilaiyaraaja. My relationship started as a fan, then became a brother and now we are equals. I become happy whenever he achieves anything and it’s same for me as well. Everyone thinks ‘Kanmani Anbodu’ is a love song for Guna and Abirami. But, no, it was a song for us.”
Ilaiyaraaja’s release date has not been revealed yet.
