Amazon Prime Video finally unveiled the lineup of its upcoming web series and films for 2024 and 2025 at the #AreYouReady event in Mumbai.
The streaming platform has scheduled to premiere these series and movies over the next two years. The list includes over 40 original series and movies, along with 29 films that will stream on the platform after their theatrical release, all across Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages. The makers are yet to announce their official release dates and other details.
So, here’s a rundown of new web series streaming on Amazon Prime Video in 2024 and 2025.
Bandwaale
Directed by Akshat Verma and Ankur Tewari, Bandwaale is produced by OML Entertainment. Also, it stars Shalini Pandey, Zahaan Kapoor, Swanand Kirkire, Sanjana Dipu, Ashish Vidhyarthi, and Anupama Kumar. Furthermore, Ankur Tewari and Swanand Kirkire are the creators of this show.
The series revolves around a young poetess living in a town where every young girl’s future ends in wedlock. But, she aspires to earn her freedom by uploading her poems on the web world with the help of a brass band singer and a new-age DJ.
Follow Kar Lo Yaar
India’s biggest viral sensation, Uorfi Javed, is all set to make her OTT debut with Follow Kar Lo Yaar. The series will give viewers an insight into the real Uorfi as she deals with her fame while also keeping her fully dysfunctional family together.
Fazila Allana and Kamna Menezes are producing the series under Sol Productions. Sandeep Kukreja is directing it alongside writers Naomi Datta and Anisha Raisurana.
The Tribe
Produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Aneesha Baig under Dharmatic Entertainment Pvt Ltd, The Tribe follows a group of Indian influencers determined to crack global fame in Los Angeles.
Omkar Potdar directed the series alongside creator Aneesha Baig. It stars Alanna Panday, Alaviaa Jaaferi, Srushti Porey, Alfia Jafry, Aryaana Gandhi, and Hardik Zaveri.
Daring Partners
Another series produced by Dharmatic Entertainment Pvt Ltd, Daring Partners stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Diana Penty, and Javed Jaaferi. The plot revolves around two best friends turned partners in an alcohol start-up.
Archit Kumar is directing the series alongside writers Nandini Gupta, Mithun Gangopadhyay, and Aarsh Vora.
Call Me Bae
Making another OTT appearance is Ananya Panday with her upcoming series, Call Me Bae. It revolves around an heiress who discovers that her most valuable assets are her smartness and style.
Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra are producing the series under Dharmatic Entertainment Pvt Ltd. Collin D’Cunha is directing it alongside creator Ishita Moitra. The series will also star Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur.
In Transit
Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s Tiger Baby Digital LLP is ready to give viewers another set of content to binge on with In Transit.
Director by Ayesha Sood, the documentary series will explore the lives of trans and non-binary individuals navigating love, identity, and the boundaries of gender in a uniquely Indian way.
Daldal
Bhumi Pednekar is returning to the OTT screen with her upcoming series, Daldal. Written by Priya Saggi, Sreekanth Agneeaswaran, Rohan D’Souza, and Hussain Haidry, the series is produced by Abundantia Entertainment.
With Amrit Raj Gupta as director, it revolves around a newly-appointed DCP who embarks on an investigation of a series of murders that puts her face to face with a cold-blooded serial killer.
Andhera
Created by Gaurav Desai and Directed by Raaghav Dar, Andhera revolves around a fearless cop and a haunted medical student who must take on a sinister force that hunts the living.
Excel Media and Entertainment LLP is producing the series, and it stars Priya Bapat, Karanvir Malhotra, Prajakta Koli, Surveen Chawla, Vatsal Sheth, Parvin Dabas, and Pranay Pachauri.
Citadel: Honey Bunny
Amazon Prime Video also confirmed the Indian adaptation within the Citadel universe titled Citadel: Honey Bunny. Produced by D2R films Production, the series will star Varun Dhawan, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Parihar, Kashvi Majmundar, and Sikandar Kher. Raj and DK are directing the series.
Citadel: Honey Bunny promises to fuse a perfect balance between a gritty spy action thriller along with the heartwarming allure of a love story set against the 90s.
Matka King
Vijay Varma’s upcoming series, Matka King, will revolve around a cotton trader whose gambling game takes the city by storm. Nagraj Manjule created and directed the series.
It is produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur, Nagraj Manjule, Ashwini Sidwani, Ashish Aryan, and Gargi Kulkarni under Roy Kapur Films.
Gulkanda Tales
Kunal Kemmu, Pankaj Tripathi, and Patralekhaa are coming together for a delightful satire series set in the fictional land of Gulkanda. Rahi Anil Barve directed it.
D2R Films Production produced the series, and Raj and DK created it. Mitesh Shah, Raj & DK, and Rahi Anil Barve wrote Gulkanda Tales.
