The ongoing modern C-drama Angels Fall Sometimes, starring Lin Yi and Landy Li in the lead roles, aired episode 8 on March 12, 2024. The episode primarily focuses on Lin Tuo (Lin Yi) spending quality time with his friends. Lin Tuo has a nightmare where he is unable to get up from a wheelchair. Just as he manages to lift himself a bit, countless invisible hands hold him down and force him to stay seated. Lin Yi wakes up from his sleep, all sweaty and worried.
He buys some snacks and visits Zhi Que (Landy Li) and her roommate. Lin Tuo’s friend, Guang Pu (Sun Tian Yu), comes over with his luggage as his father has thrown him out of the house. Chatting with friends lightens Lin Tuo’s mood, and he almost forgets about the dream.
Lin Tuo asks Zhi Que not to worry about making money. He tells her that they will rent a small place for her business. He wants to introduce her to his parents over the weekend. But Zhi Que is afraid that they will look down on her as she does not have a stable job yet.

Meanwhile, Lin Tuo feels as if his hands keep getting numb. When he mentions this to his co-worker, she asks him not to worry, as it happens when working on a keyboard for a long time. Lin Tuo brings Zhi Que to his grandfather’s house. Mr. Lin is as kind as ever and welcomes Zhi Que with open arms. He shows her around the house. Lin Tuo and Zhi Que prepare some food and invite his parents over for dinner.
In episode 8 of Angels Fall Sometimes, Lin Tuo’s parents and brother arrive at Tuo’s grandfather’s house after a while. At the dinner table, Lin Tuo’s parents ask Zhi Que various questions. They even slightly criticize her career choice. Their faces drop when they hear that Zhi Que does not have a mother and that her father is a taxi driver. Lin Tuo and his grandfather try to lighten the mood, but Zhi Que is saddened to see the ambiance getting tense.
Lin Ye, Lin Tuo’s brother, stands up for Zhi Que. He tells his parents off and says that they should be happy as Tuo has found himself someone caring and nice. He also tells them it is Tuo’s life and not theirs to worry about.
After his parents leave, Lin Tuo tries to cheer up Zhi Que. He asks her not to take his parents’ words to heart. Tuo’s grandfather asks Zhi Que to spend the night at his house and go back the next day.
After returning, Lin Tuo visits a doctor. After examining him, the doctor suggests he get a Rheumatology done to get checked for arthritis. As Lin Tuo looks up the symptoms and expenses on the internet, he gets worried. But he does not want Zhe Que to worry and decides to hide the whole thing from her for the time being.
