Queen of Tears is finally here! The highly-anticipated drama featuring Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Ji-Won as the lead couple was released on March 9, 2024 on tvN and Netflix. Meanwhile, tvN had shared a series of pictures from the drama focusing on Baek Hyun-Woo (Kim Soo-Hyun) and Hong Hae-In’s (Kim Ji-Won) in-laws. The photos highlight how polar opposite they are from each other.
Park Ji-Eun is writing the screenplay and Kim Hee-Won and Jang Young-Woo are directing Queen of Tears. The storyline of the drama revolves around Hong Hae-In, the chaebol heiress of the Queens Group, and Baek Hyun-Woo, the legal director of the same group. They are husband and wife in the series. How their relationship becomes bittersweet and what makes them come down to divorce is all about the drama.

Even though Baek Hyun-Woo (Kim Soo-Hyun) is the legal director of the Queens Group, he comes from Yongduri village. He falls in love with the third-generation chaebol heiress Hong Hae-In (Kim Ji-Won) and gets married. Hyun-Woo’s parents and Hae-In’s parents are huge poles apart.
tvN shares a new bunch of pictures from Queen of Tears highlighting Baek Hyun-Woo’s parents and Hae-In’s parents. Their lifestyles and struggles are different. Hong Hae-In is from the three generations of the Queens family who come from a wealthy background. Korea’s one of the richest conglomerate companies Queens Group is led by Chairman Hong Man-Dae (Kim Gap-Soo). Even though they have wealth and fame, their family has a lot of internal complex conflicts.
On the other hand, Hyun-Woo’s parents come from Yongduri village having a completely different lifestyle and mentality. They are quite poor in comparison to the Queens family. Jeon Bong-Ae (Hwang Young-Hee) is not only the head of Hyun-Woo’s family but also the head of the village, who runs a supermarket, farms, and more.
Queen of Tears will show how these two polar different in-laws get along together when Baek Hyun-Woo and Hong Hae-In get married. The first two episodes of the series are available to watch on tvN and Netflix. It airs every Saturday and Sunday.
