Chained Soldier episode 9 was officially released on Thursday, February 29, 2024, and the episode did not disappoint. As the series comes closer to an end, it unravels old mysteries and introduces new characters, including Aoba Wakura.
All in all, episode 9 was a high-paced drama and action, as it introduced a Humanoid Shuuki, Aoba Wakura, who turned out to be Yuuki’s sister. It saw her kidnap Yukki with help from her fellow Shuuki for an unknown reason. The episode also highlights the importance of the Mato Peaches.
Chained Soldier Episode 9: How was Yukki Kidnapped?
Yuuki and Kyouka return from their mission to exterminate the Shuuki army successfully. As they return, Izumo waits with the rest of her squad, Nei, Himari, and Shushu. The group then begins discussing Yuuki’s sister, Aoba Wakura, and learns what happened during the Mato Mishap.
After hearing how much Aoba cared for Yuuki growing up, the rest of the squad acknowledged her as a good sister. Kyouka then gives Yuuki the rest of the day off before telling Izumo to return to her dorm. Nei detects someone in danger four kilometers from the base, forcing Kyouka to send Himari and Shushu to investigate.
They discover Shuuki chasing a human girl; they are able to destroy the Shuuki successfully. However, as they approach the human girl, she reveals her identity as a Humanoid Shuuki. The Humanoid Shuuki then summons another Shuuki before revealing her name as Coco. Himari tries to act within the supreme commander’s parameters and negotiate with the Shuuki, but Coco rejects it.
Elsewhere, Kyouka gets Yuuki and tells him he needs to transform immediately. Meanwhile, Coco summons an abnormally tough Shuuki named Kuma, forcing Himari to pull out the heavy artillery. Shushu eliminates all the regular Shuuki before being rushed at by a new kind of Humanoid Shuuki wielding a weapon.
Suddenly, Aoba Wakura appears in front of Kyouka and Yuuki, eating a Mato peach. However, Kyouka and Yuuki dodge, but then Aoba commands Yuuki to stop, which he listens to surprisingly. Aoba then captures him with her hair, saying her mission is complete as regular Shuuki attacks Kyouka. While Kyouka dealt with the Shuuki, Aoba and Yuuki vanished, like the Shuuki fighting Shushu.
Why did Aoba Kidnap Yuuki?
Yuuki awakens to Coco licking his face; the other Humanoid Shuuki appears and pries Coco away. Yuuki finally sees his sister as the Humanoid Shuuki she is as Aoba embraces him. The two go for a walk outside, and Aoba explains to Yuuki that they’re in a hidden village outside the Demon Defense Force’s range.
Aoba tells Yuuki that 20 former humans live in the village. Prompting Coco and the other Shuuki named Nao to reintroduce themselves. Aoba explains to Yuuki that while their outward appearance may resemble Shuuki, their human souls remain intact.
Aoba asks Yuuki to live here, telling him how peaceful it is, as she hopes to reunite with her brother. However, Yuuki refuses and tries to appeal to their human nature, which infuriates the trio. Aoba also tells Yuuki how the Mato Peaches turned them into the hybrid Shuuki. At last, the trio declares that the defense force is their enemy, and a battle between them is now unavoidable.
