The official X (formerly known as Twitter) account of the series announced the anime adaptation of If My Wife Becomes an Elementary School Student on March 1, 2024. The anime will premiere this year. However, no specific release date or window has been announced yet.

The announcement of this series anime adaptation came with a key visual and a short synopsis of the manga. The key visual features the main protagonist of this series, Keisuke Niijima, sitting on a bench next to the elementary school version of his wife, Takae, as the adult wife stands in the middle.
Noriyuki Abe is a big name in the industry for contributing to works like Bleach, Arslan Senki, some Black Butler sequels, and many other projects. This industry veteran is directing the upcoming series. Meanwhile, Sawako Hirabayashi is handling the scripts for this anime series. Furthermore, the character designs are undertaken by Narihito Sekikawa. The production of the anime adaptation of this series was announced back on March 15, 2023.
The official synopsis of the series, as per Crunchyroll, is as follows, “The story follows Keisuke Niijima, who lost his beloved wife, Takae, ten years ago, and their daughter, Mai. They have been in a state of despair since Takae’s death. One evening, an elementary school girl visits the Niijima family claiming to be the reincarnation of Takae. At first they think it is a banter, but the girl continues to give them information that only the family knows. Keisuke and Mai recognize her as Takae, and the three begin to act together as a “family.”
