Following the announcement of Bobby Berk exiting Queer Eye after Season 8, the Fab Five has found its new resident design expert in interior designer Jeremiah Brent. Netflix (via Variety) announced that Brent will be joining the ninth season of the award-winning reality show, which will begin production this spring in Las Vegas.
Back in November 2023, Berk on Instagram announced his departure from the makeover show after seven long seasons, making the eighth season — which premiered on January 24 — his last.
“It’s with a heavy heart that I announce that season 8 will be my final season on Queer Eye. It’s not been an easy decision to be at peace with, but a necessary one. Although my journey with Queer Eye is over, my journey with you is not. You will be seeing more of me very soon,” Berk wrote.
Who is Jeremiah Brent?
While fans of the reality program were deeply saddened about Berk’s departure, Brent was an obvious and rightful choice to replace Berk as part of the Fab Five considering his design experiences. Brent is the founder of lifestyle brands Atrio and Jeremiah Brent Design (JBD) and has appeared in The Rachel Zoe Project as Rachel Zoe’s styling associate.
Brent has also appeared in Netflix’s Say I Do, serving as the show’s interior designer. He released his first book, The Space That Keeps You, earlier this month. The book is billed as “an emotional design book that explores what gives spaces meaning.”
Now, Brent will be joining Queer Eye’s current hosts Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness, Karamo Brown, and Tan France. The reality show is a reboot of Bravo’s Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and debuted in 2018.
All eight seasons of Queer Eye are available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
