Song Joong-Ki discloses the reason he rejected Netflix’s My Name is Loh Kiwan several years ago

Reportedly, Song Joong-Ki has been present at the production briefing event of the Netflix film My Name is Loh Kiwan. The event takes place on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. During the event, the actor opens up about why he rejected the movie initially, several years ago.

As reported by Xports News, Song Joong-Ki says, “The reason I asked ‘willingly’ is that I actually rejected this work once 6-7 years ago. The CEO of the production company gave me the script, and it was a work I said I wanted to do, but then overturned….At that time, there were parts I couldn’t relate to, so I dared to say no,”

He further explained that he regretted turning the movie down. Song Joong-Ki says that when the movie returned to him after so many years, he realized he was destined to play the role of Loh Kiwan. He says, “After I said no, I thought about ‘Ro Ki-wan’ and thought, “Why isn’t such a good work put into production?”…I’ve been acting crazy for several years,…I regretted turning it down.”

Song Joong-Ki continued, “Six to seven years later, when I was filming ‘The Youngest Son of a Chaebol Family,’ this script came to me again. I thought, “This is meant to be.” I left the title role and said, “This is my movie.”…I felt strongly that it was mine,”

Viewers can watch My Name is Loh Kiwan, which will arrive on Friday, March 1, 2024, on Netflix.
