Fans wondering “Was that Doctor Doom in the new Deadpool & Wolverine trailer?” aren’t alone, as much of the Marvel fandom is now asking the same question. Will the villain show up in the movie? Here’s all you need to know.
Is Doctor Doom in Deadpool and Wolverine?
A mysterious masked persona in the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer appeared to be Doctor Doom. But that may not be the case, as the chances for his cameo are low.
Watching the above teaser, fans spotted a gunman at 1:48 who looked very similar to Doctor Doom. The mask in particular gives viewers the feeling of Victor Von Doom.
The fact that there is another major Secret Wars easter egg in the trailer also makes fans believe that the following masked persona could be Doom. But if we look at his gun and outfit, one might think that this isn’t Doom after all.
Deadpool 3 is supposed to include a lot of cameos. It is expected to pay homage to all past Fox-Marvel movies besides the X-Men. So, not only are Daredevil and Elektra expected to appear, but even the original Fantastic Four characters are rumored to show up in a quick cameo. If the latter happens, then could Doctor Doom also show up?
Since the Julian McMahon variant of Doctor Doom died in Fantastic Four 2, it’s unlikely for him to have a cameo in Deadpool 3. Fans could argue that there are different variants of multiple Fox-Marvel characters showing up in Deadpool & Wolverine, so we shouldn’t count out a Victor Von Doom cameo just yet.
But the presence of a Doom variant in the movie might undercut the prime variant of the character that’s rumored to appear in 2025’s Fantastic Four. So, it would be wise not to expect a Doom cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, unless Marvel plans to replace Kang with him in Avengers: Secret Wars.
