Chainsaw Man Director Is Directing Wistoria: Wand and Sword Anime TV Adaptation

The official website for Wistoria: Wand and Sword recently announced that the series will debut its anime television adaptation soon. Adapted from Fujino Ōmori and Toshi Aoi’s manga with the same name, the website unveiled some crucial information about the upcoming anime TV. 

Wistoria: Word and Sword anime will premiere in July 2024 across 28 TBS networks in Japan. The series will be under the direction of Chainsaw Man’s prominent director, Tatsuya Yoshihara. Tatsuya is directing the anime at Actas and Bandai Namco Pictures. Additionally, the anime has cast Kōhei Amasaki to play the role of Will Serfort and Akira Sekine as Elfaria Alvis Serfort.

Kodansha USA Publishing handles the manga’s publishing in English. Describing the plot of the manga, it writes: “A new, magical dungeon-adventure fantasy series from the author of Is It Wrong to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?! To fulfill the promise he made to his childhood friend, Will Serfort enters Regarden Magic Academy with the goal of making it to the top of the magical world. There’s just one problem—he doesn’t know how to use magic! Will the seemingly ordinary sword in his hand be the key to unlock his true potential?”

Wistoria: Wand and Sword’s manga began serialization in December 2020 in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine. Kodansha published its English translation and recently released the ninth compiled volume. 

The manga has remained a hit, and it is only a matter of time before fans will see if the anime does Wistoria: Wand and Sword justice.
