Toei Animation Announces Hypergalactic CGI Animated Film

When the world of CGI intertwines with that of animation, it marks the beginning of a remarkable production. Whether it is the 2014 film Expelled from Paradise or Godzilla Singular Point from 2021, the versatility of CGI in anime enhances the overall experience for the audience. Adding to this unique visual experience, Toei Animation has announced Hypergalactic, a CGI animated film, slated to release in February 2024

Naoto Oshima, known for his work in Sonic the Hedgehog, has teamed up with Joseph Chou to work on this groundbreaking project. As such, the two are crafting the narrative while David N. Weiss is handling the direction of the film. 

The high-profile cast members include Elsie Fisher, Adam Devine, J.K. Simmons, and Sam Richardson. Their involvement with Toei Animation is an indication that viewers can rely on this collaboration. 

Fisher is playing the role of the protagonist, who embarks on a journey into the near future. Meanwhile, Okhan, played by Adam Devine, assumes the role of Earth’s forgotten guardian. Their fates intertwine as the former, along with her infant brother, ventures with Okhan, who is responsible for reuniting the siblings with their parents.

Yoshi Ikezawa from Toei Animation is producing Hypergalactic. This provokes anticipation about the creativity that viewers will get to witness in this film. Other than Yoshi Ikezawa, Kōzō Morishita, Katsuhiro Takagi, and Tim Kwok are handling the production as well.

Moreover, Charades is responsible for distributing the film on a worldwide scale. As such, the global release will begin with a release in Berlin in February 2024 through the European Film Market. Kevin Iwashina, who founded the Iwashina Corporation, will act as an advisor to Toei Animation and help the film reach global heights.

This new project is already making noise on the internet, promising to captivate audiences with its themes and storyline. The film’s association with Toei Animation signals an era of another addition to cinematic splendor.
