Solo Leveling is an action fantasy anime that premiered in the Winter 2024 season. Adapted from the Korean web novel, the anime covers the gruesome yet exciting elements of a magical world where magical portals appear all over the globe that are connected to dungeons filled with deadly monsters. Along with the anime, audiences were equally hyped about the protagonist, Sung Jin-Woo, who is portrayed as a meek young man in his early twenties.
Sung Jin-Woo’s age at the start of Solo Leveling
The protagonist of Solo Leveling, Sung Jin-Woo, was written to appear as relatable and realistic as possible. This is the reason why several fans were able to empathize with our young hero and his condition. He is depicted as having a generic personality and struggling hard to meet his ends financially.
Jin-Woo is in his early twenties, specifically 24 or 25 at the beginning of the series. He is quite relatable in that aspect, as the early twenties mostly go into building one’s life and finances. Jin-Woo is fighting hard to financially support his teenage sister Jinah, a student in high school.
Sung Jin-Woo is termed as “Humanity’s weakest hunter” at the beginning of the series. He is lucky enough to come out of the dungeons with minor scratches. He lost his father at a young age and finds his mother in a state of comatoseness. With the weight of responsibilities on his shoulders, Jin-Woo becomes an E-rank hunter. It’s dangerous work, but Jinwoo will do it if it means supporting his little sister.
Despite being physically weak and not having magical prowess, Jin-Woo has proved himself to be quite intelligent and strategic. He is a reliable teammate who tries to pull his weight not with his actions but with his ideas and words.
