With Taylor Swift showing up to support her partner Travis Kelce during his games, the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL overall have profited quite a bit from her presence. Here’s how much money she has made for the NFL, and how she has helped the Chiefs in other ways.
How much revenue has Taylor Swift generated for the NFL?
As per reports, Taylor Swift has generated over $330 million for the Chiefs and the NFL.
The data from Apex Marketing Group (via Front Office Sports) reveals that Swift has created a “brand value” of $331.5 million. This number has almost doubled since October when the Swift-Kelce romance reportedly generated $166 million.
Apex Marketing Group’s data accounts for the money made through digital, radio, print, television, highlights, and social media ever since Swift first showed up at the Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri on Sept. 24, 2023. She was spotted in the crowd for 11 games until January 22, 2024. By then, the financial amount for each occurrence was calculated based on “reach and impact.”
Furthermore, Apex President Eric Smallwood also told Front Office Sports that most of the revenue generated came from digital content and online news, which even superseded social media. Since Swift also appeared at the AFC Championship match on January 28, and could even be in the crowds at Super Bowl LVIII, it’ll be interesting to see how much the NFL’s revenue grows by late February.
How has Taylor Swift helped the Kansas City Chiefs?
Besides creating a massive brand value, Swift’s presence in the NFL has helped increase the viewership numbers and merchandise sales for the Chiefs.
Front Office Sports reports that female viewership saw a growth of nine percent from the previous season to this season. The Chiefs vs. Dolphins game on January 13, 2024, set the U.S. live event streaming record, while over 50.4 million viewers tuned in during the Chiefs vs. Bills match on Jan 22.
Besides the viewership, the Chiefs merchandise sales have seen a big boost. Kelce’s jersey is now among the top five-selling jerseys and his gear has seen a 400% increase in sales.
The NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell previously mentioned that the Swift-Kelce romance has been great for the game. Now, there’s enough data to prove it!
