Ace dies in episode 483 of the One Piece anime. The episode title says it all, which is “Looking for the Answer – Fire Fist Ace Dies on the Battlefield.” This was during the Summit War of Marineford.

Who kills Ace in One Piece?
Admiral Akainu is the one who kills Ace in One Piece.
Akainu’s killing blow is when he punches Ace in the stomach with his magma abilities, resulting in a hole around Ace’s torso. Ace falls in front of Luffy, much to Luffy’s horror. Luffy hugs Ace and tries to treat Ace’s wound while screaming for help. However, hope is lost for Ace because Akainu’s punch burned Ace’s organs.
Ace accepts the fact that he’s dying and he starts saying his final words to Luffy. Luffy doesn’t want to accept that Ace is dying. Ace tells Luffy he won’t be present to witness Luffy’s dream become a reality and tells him to keep going. Ace also remembers how he used to think he didn’t deserve to live, but his family supported him either way.
His final words to Luffy are to thank them because they cared for someone like him. He cries out in gratitude to his friends and family who loved him. Ace dies and falls in front of Luffy. Luffy starts breaking down over the loss of his brother.
Does Ace come back to life?
Unfortunately, Ace does not come back to life. In the episode, we see his Vivre Card burn away.
