Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan’s romantic comedy, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, offers a unique blend of sarcasm and a refreshing touch to the usual plot.
Laxman Utekar directed and wrote the movie, with Maddock Films and Jio Studios producing it. The movie revolves around a small-town married couple who wish to get their own house. It had its theatrical release on June 2, 2023, and premiered on Jio Cinema on December 2, 2023.

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke Ending: Do Kapil and Soumya get back together?
In Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, Kapil and Somya find themselves in a challenging situation. The married couple is living in a small house with their extended family. Their rooms are occupied by Kapil’s relatives, which left them with very limited space and compromised their privacy. Although Kapil’s aunt is constantly taunting them, the two manage to maintain a delicate balance between their work and personal lives.
Initially, the two looked for houses but the rates were too expensive for them. So they inquire about the Indian government’s flagship program, the Awas Yojna scheme. They learn that to be eligible, Kapil had to be either kicked out of his parent’s house or Somya would have to divorce him. Although the two initially brush off the idea, Somya convinces Kapil to go ahead with the divorce process.
Do Kapil and Somya separate?
During their fake separation, Kapil and Somya find it difficult to live apart as they yearn for each other’s presence. They rent separate rooms, as per the housing scheme’s regulations and find solace in secret meetings away from their families.
However, their fake separation journey takes an unexpected turn when they discover that the housing scheme has been discontinued, which shatters their dreams. This news leads to frustration and blame in their relationship. Even an intervention by a police officer fails to resolve their conflict.
Later in Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, Somya receives an allotment letter informing her that she was granted a house through the Awas Yojana scheme. Despite the happy news, she realizes that the new house would never feel like home without Kapil. So, she gathers her courage and visits Kapil’s house. She then shares the news about the newfound accommodations with him.
This revelation surprises both families, who were unaware that Kapil and Somya were part of the housing scheme. But Kapil was still upset about the situation, which led to an unfortunate argument between the couple, which caused them to stop communicating. However, deep down, they both knew they couldn’t live without each other.
Do Kapil and Soumya reunite?
Towards the end of Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, Kapil, and Somya have a moment of self-reflection where they realise that a house is more than just a physical structure. They understand that it is the love and togetherness that make it a home. They knew that their love and companionship were more important than anything else. So, with this newfound clarity, they decide to reconcile and let go of their need for a separate house.
In the end, the two decide to remarry and prioritize cherishing their bond over pursuing validation from others. They celebrate their love and commitment in the presence of their families.
