Veteran Kannada actress Hema Chaudhary was hospitalized after suffering from a brain haemorrhage earlier this week.
News of her hospitalization sent shockwaves throughout the Kannada film industry and her beloved fans. Recently, the actress was seen in good health at the Lilavati Punya Tithi event.
The renowned Kannada actress has acted in more than 180 films across Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, and Tamil languages. Her career has spanned over four decades where she has created a niche for herself in the South Indian Cinema. Known to be a versatile actress, she has effortlessly transitioned from her lead roles in the early days of her career to strong performances in supporting roles later.
Hema Chaudhary’s condition is critical after brain haemorrhage
Hema Chaudhary suffered brain haemorrhage two days ago, which led to her immediate hospitalization and placement in the intensive care unit. As per reports, the actress is currently battling a critical illness in the intensive care unit of Baptist Hospital, Bangalore. Family members of Hema Chaudhary are awaiting the arrival of her son from abroad, as her body reportedly isn’t responding to treatment yet.
She started her career with Kannada movie Vijaya Vani in 1976 and later starred in hits like Varadakshine (1980), Narada Vijaya (1980) and Devara Duddu (1977). Hema Chaudhary earned recognition for portraying negative roles in Kannada movies like Shubhashaya (1977), Deepa (1977), Gaali Maathu (1981), and Nee Bareda Kadambari (1985). She has also starred opposite to Kamal Haasan in the most notable Tamil film, Manmatha Leelai (1976).
Besides her acting career, she is also an accomplished Kuchipudi dancer. She has given over 700 performances alongside her guru Vempati Chinna Satyam and has even bagged the prestigious Panorama Award for her dancing skills.
She was also classmates with superstar Rajinikanth at an acting school in Madras and has also served as a judge on the National Film Awards Committee for three years.
