After teaming up for 2021’s Free Guy, 2022’s The Adam Project, and the upcoming Deadpool 3, director Shawn Levy and blockbuster star Ryan Reynolds just can’t get enough of each other, as they continue their creative partnership on a new project.
According to Deadline, Levy has officially signed on to direct and produce the upcoming heist comedy movie starring Reynolds. This comes after the untitled project was most recently acquired by Netflix, who worked with both Levy and Reynolds on multiple projects, particularly with Levy on one of its most popular shows to date, Stranger Things.
Who’s involved Untitled Ryan Reynolds Heist Comedy?
Full details about its plot and characters are still being kept under wraps, but the untitled project will reportedly be in the same vein as Ocean’s 11, and is expected to feature an ensemble cast. The film will be written by Dana Fox, whose best known for her works on a few comedies such as What Happens in Vegas, How to Be Single, and The Lost City. It will be produced by Reynolds, Fox, Kinberg, and Audrey Chon. It hails from Maximum Effort and Genre Films.
This project also marks Reynolds’ latest collaboration with Netflix, after previously starring in 6 Underground, The Adam Project, and Red Notice. At the moment, another one of Reynold’s newest projects titled Calamity Hustle has also started a bidding competition between Amazon MGM Studios, Warner Bros., Netflix, and more.
