Captain America: Brave New World has gotten an additional writer for the Marvel Studios sequel’s upcoming reshoots.
Deadline has reported that Matthew Orton has joined the sequel to write the additional scenes and material. The outlet says that the reshoots are likely to take place in spring-summer 2024. Orton is no stranger to the MCU as he previously was a consulting producer on Moon Knight. No word yet on how long the reshoots will last.
The fourth installment in the MCU‘s Captain America film series following 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger, 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, as well as a sequel to 2021’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier miniseries, Captain America: Brave New World (formerly titled Captain America: New World Order) is directed by Julius Onah, who also co-wrote the script with Malcolm Spellman and Dylan Musson.
Who stars in Captain America: Brave New World?
The film will see Anthony Mackie reprise his role as Sam Wilson, who took over as Captain America for Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) following the events of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Also starring in Captain America: Brave New World are Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Tim Blake Nelson as Samuel Sterns/Leader, Shira Haas as Sabra, Harrison Ford as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, and Liv Tyler as Betty Ross.
Captain America: Brave New World will be released in United States theaters on February 14, 2025, from Marvel Studios.
