Death’s Game, starring South Korean actor Seo In-Guk, is a new fantasy series set to arrive on TVING on December 15, 2023. The series will also air in selected regions of Amazon Prime Video. It is a thriller series based on a popular webtoon Death’s Game by Lee Won-Sik and Ggulchan.
Death’s Game centers around the reincarnation story of a man named Choi Yi-Jae. Seo In-Guk portrays the role of Choi Yi-Jae in the upcoming series. Apart from him, the K-drama will also star Park So-Dam as the mysterious Death. Seo In-Guk’s Death’s Game will debut on December 15, 2023, on TVING and Prime Video. The entire part 1 of the series will air on the same day. Ha Byung-Hoon is both the director and writer of the series. He also serves as the producer of the new thriller series.
The synopsis of the new series, as per IMDb, reads, “Facing hardships and contemplating suicide after a series of setbacks, a man is confronted by Death and tasked with experiencing death over and over again through 13 other lives to earn the chance to live.”
Seo In-Guk’s character, Choi Yi-Jae, fails to get a job for seven years. This breaks him down, and he loses his will to live due to his repeated failure to build his career. On the other hand, Park So-Dam’s character, Death, is a fascinating and suspicious being who condemns Choi Yi-Jae to thirteen different cycles of life and death through reincarnation before he falls into hell. Choi Yi-Jae is forced to do so to earn his final chance to live.
The star-studded cast of the TVING series revealed
Apart from Seo In-Guk and Park So-Dam, the supporting cast of Death’s Game includes Kim Ji-Hoon as the CEO of Taekang Group, Park Tae-Woo, and Go Youn-Jung as novelist Lee Ji-Su. The latter has been in a romantic relationship with the lead character Yi-Jae since their college days.
Besides them, many renowned South Korean actors will make guest appearances in the upcoming TVING series. The list includes Choi Si-Won as Park Jin-Tae, Jang Seung-Jo as Lee Ju-Hun, Lee Jae-Wook as Jo Tae-Sang, Kim Jae-Wook as Jung Gyu-Cheol, Sung Hoon as Song Jae-Seob, Yoo In-So as Hyuk-Soo’s classmate, Lee Do-Hyun as Jang Geon-Woo, Kim Kang-Hoon as Kwon Hyuk-Soo and several others.
