A24 released the first poster for Civil War, an upcoming action film from writer-director Alex Garland. The poster features two gunmen pointing rifles while stationed on top of the torch of the Statue of Liberty. The first trailer will be released next week.
Plot details remain under wraps. According to World of Reel, Civil War has been described as “a road movie and a war film with satirical elements” and “an elevated shooter game.” Garland told The Telegraph that Civil War is “set at an indeterminate point in the future – just far enough ahead for me to add a conceit.”

When Will Civil War Be Released?
According to the date on the poster, Civil War will be released in Spring 2024. Audiences will be able to see the film in IMAX. Gregory Goodman, Andrew Macdonald, and Allon Reich will produce. Production companies on Civil War include A24 and DNA Films.
Civil War is written and directed by Garland. The film stars Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Cailee Spaeny, Karl Glusman, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonica T. Gibbs, and Jess Matney.
Civil War is Garland’s fourth directed feature. His first, Ex Machina, earned Garland an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Garland also wrote and directed Annihilation and Men. In 2020, Garland created, wrote, and directed Devs, a sci-fi limited series for FX on Hulu.
