Powerhouse duo Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte will reportedly be part of Yash Raj Films (YRF) next OTT release. Titled Akka, the period thriller will be directed by debutant writer and director Dharamraj Shetty.
YRF’s next OTT series to star Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte
Yash Raj Films (YRF), the juggernaut of Indian entertainment, has firmly established its presence on Netflix. It is now making waves in the digital world with its latest venture into the OTT space. Riding high on the success of The Railway Men, the show is currently among the top 10 shows worldwide on Netflix.
The Railway Men pays tribute to the unsung heroes of the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy. The series also features a stellar cast, including R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu Sharma, and Babil Khan. Now, with the green light for Akka, YRF is all set to explore the uncharted territory of an intense rivalry between Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte.
As mentioned earlier, Akka takes center stage as an intriguing period thriller. In fact, it features popular South Indian actress Keerthy Suresh and acting powerhouse Radhika Apte. In a recent interview with Variety, a trade source shared, “The fact that Keerthy and Radhika have been pitted against each other makes ‘Akka’ one of the most intriguing streaming projects being made in the country currently.”
Additionally, the visionary force behind Akka is debutant writer and director Dharmaraj Shetty. YRF’s Aditya Chopra reportedly discovered him.
Furthermore, the source added, “His [Dharmaraj Shetty] vision for ‘Akka’ grabbed Aditya’s attention, and the project was greenlit instantly with a brief from Adi to make ‘Akka’ one of the biggest tentpole series that YRF Entertainment will ever make. Every detail of this project will be kept under wraps purposely by YRF to build intrigue.”
As the days progress, more details regarding Akka will come to the forefront.
