Actor Suriya’s upcoming movie Kanguva shooting halted due to a recent accident

The untoward incident occurred when a rope camera, an integral component to shoot dynamic action sequences, suddenly broke loose. The loose camera collided with Surya’s shoulder. Despite the actor’s quick response, he did sustain minor injuries from the impact. Notably, the incident did not escalate and no other crew members were injured.

Despite the minor nature of the injury, the shoot for the day had to be canceled. According to reports, Suriya’s doctor has recommended a two-week bed rest for the actor to ensure a speedy recovery. This development raises questions about the film’s production schedule as a potential delay looms ahead.

Kanguva, initially announced as Suriya 42, holds significant promise as a period action-drama. The film, shot across picturesque locations in Goa, Kerala, Kodaikanal, and Rajahmundry, boasts a massive budget. It has been reported that it is one of the most expensive Tamil language movies made to date. It will have a pan-Indian release in 38 different languages and in 3D and IMAX formats.

With Kanguva, director Siva and Suriya are collaborating for the first time. However that’s not the only first as Suriya is playing six different roles in the film. He is joined by a stellar cast, including Disha Patani and Bobby Deol, marking their Tamil debut.

All in all, as the film gears up for its theatrical release in early 2024, the incident on set has inevitably created a buzz. Leaving fans eagerly awaiting updates on Suriya’s recovery and the subsequent impact on the film’s production schedule.
