Is Tiger Nageswara Rao movie based on a real story?
The highly anticipated film, Tiger Nageswara Rao, draws inspiration from a real-life story. The film delves into the true-life story of Nageswara Rao, a popular thief from the Stuartpuram region of Andhra Pradesh. His intriguing story revolves around the 1970s and 1980s, a time that was marked by his active involvement in a series of crimes, including robberies, jewelry thefts, and audacious bank heists.
Nageswara Rao emerged as a prominent figure in the world of crime. His notorious actions stemmed from his ability to consistently shake off law enforcement officials over the course of several years. He collaborated closely with his partner-in-crime, Gajjala Prasad, and orchestrated a series of serious criminal escapades across several regions of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and beyond.
This notorious duo earned a reputation for their creative and innovative ways to pull off their illicit activities. However, what truly set them apart was their gesture of redistributing a significant portion of their thefts among the ordinary. Despite being caught and sent to jail, Nageswara Rao and his partner always escaped and avoided staying behind bars for too long.
Nageswara Rao earned the nickname Tiger after successfully escaping a Chennai prison. The police fatally shot him, bringing an end to his criminal journey in 1987.
