A third Enola Holmes movie with Millie Bobby Brown is officially in the works.
Scott Stuber, the chairman of Netflix Films, confirmed to Collider that Enola Holmes 3 is happening and will see Brown reprise her role as Enola Holmes.
“You know, [Millie Bobby Brown is] such a great homegrown star for us,” he said. “I mean, obviously, Stranger Things is huge for us in that, and watching her grow as an actress. We have a film called Damsel with her in the spring, which I’m really excited about, [from] Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. Then, getting that character right. The Holmes IP is weirdly elastic. Obviously, Warner Bros. did an incredible job with Downey and Jude Law, so this idea that we can extend that IP with her is exciting. So, we’re working once again on a screenplay to try to get that. But yes, aspiration. I’d like to do another one.”
Stuber didn’t specify if any of the other cast from the first two movies, including Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, would return for Enola Holmes 3 as the script is still being written.
Millie Bobby Brown and Netflix’s Enola Holmes franchise
Enola Holmes debuted on Netflix in September 2020. Directed by Harry Bradbeer with a screenplay from Jack Thorne, the film adapts Nancy Springer’s The Enola Holmes Mysteries and follows Sherlock’s younger sister, Enola, as she tries to find her missing mother. Sam Claflin, Helena Bonham Carter, and Louis Partridge also star in the film.
A sequel, Enola Holmes 2, followed in November 2022. Brown, Cavill, Partridge, and Carter all returned to reprise their respective roles, while the film also introduced Himesh Patel’s Doctor Watson.
In November 2022, Brown told ScreenRant that she was very eager to make a third Enola Holmes movie. “I would love to be a part of another one,” she said. “I would love to see her do more cases, be put under pressure, be put in crazy situations, make her feel vulnerable again. I absolutely love seeing her back at work.”
A release date for Enola Holmes 3 has not yet been set.
