How did Eren kill his mom?
Eren killed his mom by directing the Dina Fritz Titan to eat her.
In his conversation with Armin in the final episode, Eren reveals that he was involved in the death of his mother. In this conversation, Eren also revealed more about the Founding Titan’s powers. He explains that his head is messed up because of the Founding Titan’s powers, in which there is no concept of time. He says he does not experience the past or future, everything is happening all at once.
While this explains Eren’s motivations for moving forward, it also shows that he was involved in the death of his mom. Eren needed to save Bertholdt because he noted that it was not his time to die just yet. So with the Founding Titan’s powers, he directed the Dina Fritz Titan away from Bertholdt. However, this then led to the Dina Fritz Titan eating Eren’s mom. Eren also made it this way so that his younger self would be motivated to slaughter all the Titans.
For those who need a refresher, the Smiling Titan, also known as Dina Fritz, was the first wife of Grisha Jaeger back in Marley. She has royal blood and is the mother of Zeke. As a member of the Eldian Restorationists, she was charged with committing treason. She was then transformed into an Abnormal Titan.
