After having seen Bodies‘ first season, fans want to know whether or not the show has been canceled or if it will return for another season of time-travel hijinks. Here is all you need to know.
Has Bodies been canceled on Netflix?
Bodies has neither been canceled nor renewed for a second season on Netflix, as of this writing.
However, given that the series was listed as a limited series when it was being made and when it was eventually released, it is unlikely that the time-travel show will get another season.
Moreover, it seems likely that the creators listed the series as a limited series, as they probably intended to make just one season for the show and likely did not want to deal with the pressure of making more seasons. This is not the first time Netflix has had a situation like this, as they faced a similar situation with shows like Stay Close, Inventing Anna, Behind Her Eyes, and Maid.
Will there be another season of Bodies on Netflix?
As of this writing, Bodies has not been confirmed for another season.
However, series creator Paul Tomalin has not ruled out the possibility of a second season happening. In an interview with Express.co.uk, Tomalin explained that he had pitched Bodies as an eight-part story to Netflix but did not rule out the eventuality of a second season and that it could happen if the first season was a success.
Tomalin’s comments echo the cliffhanger ending set up in the first season finale of Bodies, which gives the creators of the show an option to do more seasons under special circumstances. The ending showed the time loop supposedly starting all over again despite Elias Mannix’s decision not to detonate the bomb, leading to a new timeline.
Moreover, Iris Maplewood’s presence in 2023, despite being from the year 2053, has left a huge mystery, accentuated by Dr. Hasan’s surprise, that could be solved in future seasons.
